The direction of sound is still towards the back, so lifting it up like that is more for optical effect. I think.

The tone was amazing but I felt like the slide was a bit sloppy.

The trombonist's face gradually gets redder, particularly during the tenor clef part. Despite how flawless it sounded, it shows how much effort those parts need.
